Instructions for creating a wav file from other sources through the mixing consol.
Step 1: Make sure the DAW channel is off and the source channel is in audition.
Step 2: Open Adobe Audition (Icon is on the desk top)
Step 3: Make sure you are in single track view (There is a button in the upper left hand corner that toggles you between single track view and multi-track view)
Step 4: Click the red circle button on the lower left of the program.
Step 5: Be certain that the sampling rate is at 44100 the channels is in stereo and the resolution is at 16bit. and choose OK
(32 bit is better but will not record onto a CD)
Step 6: Recording begins immediately after hitting OK. If you were not ready to begin recording yet click the stop button to stop recording and hit the delete key.
Step 7: Once you have finished recording the track you wished click stop and edit the wave. (note: you can record several tracks worth in one session)
Step 8: Choose the file menu at the top and choose save as (or is you can highlight a certain section of a long wav file and choose Save selection as
Step 9: this part is important!!! in the window that appears there are two drop downs the top on is recent directories... and should not be used unless you are familiar with it.
Use the Save in: drop down to navigate and find a location to save the file too. (be sure you know where that place is so you can find it later)
a good place is D:\workingtemp
Step 10: Change the file name to something other than untitled and that Save as type: says Windows PCM (*.wav)
Step 11: Repeat this process until you have all the tracks (a.k.a. wav files) that you wish to record.
